"A Man Never Stands So Tall As When Kneeling To Help A Child"

Active 20-30 Home

The holidays "Tis the season to give"...and that's exactly what the Active 20-30 Club of Bakersfield does best. The annual event, "Christmas Experience" aims to provide each in-need family with toys and clothing for every child, plus a one-hundred dollar food voucher and Christmas tree. Annually the club raises over $35,000 for this event, which is enough money to sponsor over 50 families totaling over 150 children each year. After all of the funds are raised, the 20-30 Club teams up with several other organizations to shop for, wrap and deliver the hundreds of gifts to needy families in Kern County.

The Active 20-30 Club of Bakersfield was founded in 1928. Our chapter is geared towards men in their 20's and 30's. The club's objective is to serve the underprivileged youth in our community while developing leadership in young men.

Active 20-30 membership draws from all professions and is open to everyone within the age qualifications. Our organization differs from many other service organizations in that not only do we raise money for needy children's charities, but also insist upon "hands-on" interaction. This active participation serves to solidify our personal relationships with those we serve, maintains motivation, and produces a high degree of personal satisfaction.

We serve the children of Kern County through direct contributions in excess of $100,000 annually. The distribution of these monies is voted on by the board of directors. 100% of all funds go to charities; absolutely no money goes toward administrative or overhead costs.
